What DeRoyal makes
DeRoyal Industries builds one of the broadest orthopedic soft goods catalogs in the United States, and the range is the reason so many hospitals end up carrying too many of them. The published Orthopedics and Bracing catalog covers:
- Cervical: soft and firm collars, plus two-piece rigid collars for EMS and ED use.
- Spine: lumbar sacral supports and back bracing in elastic and rigid-panel styles.
- Shoulder and clavicle: clavicle supports, shoulder immobilizers (sling and strap, sling and swathe, Velpeau, and abductor pillows), and arm slings and elevators, including triangle bandage slings in muslin.
- Elbow, wrist, and hand: post-op elbow supports and sleeves, wrist braces, wrist and thumb combinations with malleable aluminum splints, and finger splints.
- Knee and ankle: knee immobilizers in multiple lengths, post-op knee bracing, knee supports, ankle and foot supports.
- Contracture management: static progressive and dynamic splints for joint contracture rehabilitation.

The five decisions that shrink the SKU list
1. One family per indication. Pick a single knee immobilizer family, a single soft collar, a single wrist splint family, and make them the default across every department and clinic. Alternates stay on the formulary as order-in items, not stocked items. This is the single largest reduction available.
2. Universal where the manufacturer supports it. Many DeRoyal slings, collars, and wrist splints are offered in universal or two-size runs. Where the manufacturer's sizing chart says universal covers the patient population you see, stock universal and keep sized versions for the outliers. Do not do this for knee immobilizers or walking boots, where length drives fit and compliance.
3. Laterality only where it exists. Some products come left and right, others are bilateral. Standardize on bilateral designs where they exist. A bilateral wrist splint bin is one bin, not two.
4. Set par by weekly volume, not by shelf space. Pull twelve months of usage by department. Most facilities find that ten SKUs are 80 percent of the picks. Those ten get a par level and a standing order. Everything else moves to order-in with a confirmed lead time.
5. One label format. Print the same label on every bin: DeRoyal item number, size, laterality, and your internal reorder number. Half of ortho reorder errors are people ordering from memory.
List price versus your price
DeRoyal products on our site show the manufacturer's published list price. That is the reference price, not the price you pay. Contract pricing, volume tiers, and any GPO alignment are applied on the quote. Send us your usage by SKU and we return a quote with your price, the pack size, and the lead time in one document.
If you already buy DeRoyal through a GPO agreement, tell us the contract. In most cases we can align to it, and we can tell you quickly if we cannot.
Lead time expectations
